Kedua gambar di atas menunjukkan kenaikan temperatur permukaan bumi yang “tidak wajar” akhir-akhir ini. Apa yang menjadi penyebabnya?

Efek Rumah Kaca (Greenhouse Effect)

Efek Rumah Kaca (Greenhouse Effect) adalah salah satu fenomena yang dianggap sebagai penyebab terbesar dari Global Warming. Sebenarnya sich secara alami proses Efek Rumah Kaca sangat diperlukan untuk kehidupan di Bumi. Panel gas rumah kaca di atmosfer menangkap panas matahari agar tidak seluruhnya terlepas angkasa. Itulah sebabnya kenapa Bumi terasa hangat, tidak dingin dan beku. Masalah terjadi ketika konsentrasi gas rumah kaca di atmosfer meningkat secara berlebihan. Akhirnya, gas rumah kaca malah menghalangi panas matahari yang seharusnya dikeluarkan. Segala sesuatu yang berlebihan itu pasti tidak baik.
